About the organization and the population served
There is a vital need in the community to provide family caregivers with temporary relief from the incredible demands of meeting their children's special needs. Lil Dreams provides direct services through respite care to children ages 1-18 with physical and developmental disabilities. Currently serving children and their families in the Broomfield area. Staff provides families with temporary relief from incredible demands of meeting their children’s special needs. Childcare Specialists are honored to serve these children, to play a role in relieving stress on families, and reduce the isolation these families and children often face. Lil Dreams helps create a network of friendships, support, and resources. The Broomfield facility is an enriching environment for children to play, socialize, and receive therapy. Childcare Specialists are highly trained and trusted with children, allowing parents to not be onsite. Childcare Specialists complete approximately 12 hours of training and then annual training to ensure the safety of all children in our care is assured. Classes include but are not limited to the following: standard precautions, CPR/First aid, lifting and transferring training, behavioral training, feeding training, QMAP, medication administration, medication delegation, community connector training, PASA transportation training and Crisis Prevention Intervention. All adults working and volunteering have a completed background check.
